Spring is just around the corner. Dormancy will be replaced rapid growth.

As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden. In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again. Yes! There will be growth in the spring!

Picture taken with iPhone at UVA during snowstorm. I then used ToonPAINT and Polarize apps to create the final image.

Stephen Colbert really cracks me up on occasion. The Word had me rolling last night.

A fun picture. For a bit of info about tempeh feel free to drop by maketempeh.org.

I can’t remember the last time I unpacked something that was so cool I wanted to put it up on the wall as a trophy. This thing is so sleek that I’m almost scared to use it for the first time.

My Juicer

My Breville BJE200XL 700-Watt Compact Juice Fountain!

I don’t think the current fruits and veggies I have in the house are worthy enough for it. I’ll go buy some fresh stuff tomorrow and give it a shot. I bet it will taste really good!

I really love snow. We got a few inches during our first storm of the year. This snapshot (using my 10-24mm lens) is from the bridge that runs right next to the amphitheater, near the transit station, and over the railroad tracks.

A few more snapshots from that morning can be viewed in my ‘Winter‘ set.

The city is draped to start this sunny 75 degree day.

Back in June I went up to the NSCL for the FRIB dedication ceremony and an alumni reunion. I was amazed at all the construction that had taken place at the cyclotron, as well as campus. I managed to get in a video that is up on YouTube. My one and only video up there (at least that I’m aware of).

The NSCL has a full YouTube channel, so be sure to drop by if interested.

Last weekend I was in Toledo, Ohio for Spike’s wedding. The wedding went very smoothly. I think I’ve finally recovered from my 1208 miles in four days of driving. It was fun to see “old” people from my grad school days.

I put up a few of my shots on Flickr. Black and white make everything look better. Right? :)

For those that follow me on Twitter you may have noticed I started a “Polaroid of the day” posting. I’ve managed to take a shot for 20 days in a row. I wonder if I can make it a full year. So far, so good. Speaking of which..I’d better remember to take a shot today!

While walking home I looked up and noticed a rather vibrant moon staring down at me.
